SIC (US 1987) : Early Friday morning, students in grades PK thru 6th and their dads gathered in the EPS Gym for Donuts With Dad! Mr. Wemhoff starts off the event with donuts, coffee, juice or milk. Several library books, bean bags, and chairs are spread throughout the gym for students and their dads to enjoy before heading off to school or work. As always, we had a great turnout for this event and many thanks to Mr. Wemhoff and his crew for putting on this event.
Mrs. Rita Heithoff attended the Nebraska Art Teacher's Association (NATA) Fall Conference in Falls City, NE on Friday, September 27th. While at the conference she received a NATA Regional Educational Service Unit Award for 2019-2020. In its eighth year, the ESU award honor recognizes individuals who support art education in Nebraska both inside and outside the classroom.
Mrs. Heithoff is in her 21st year of teaching K-12 art at Elgin Public School. Congratulations, Mrs. Heithoff, on a well deserved award.
Mr. Childers traveled with 6 science students to Pierce, NE to the annual Wonderful World of Water Day on Sept. 18th. Students were able to learn about water and the environment through interactions at several different stations. Some of the stations included aquatic insects, owls, water pollution, and environmental runoff. The students had a great day, and even came home with the most creative water-bottle rocket design!
